How to send a correction, a tip or a book suggestion.
Write to the journal
Corrections, arguments, book suggestions and maps are all welcome. The best messages share one quality: they tell us exactly which sentence or which claim they are about.
What gets a reply
- A correction with a source we can read.
- A book that deserves a week of its own.
- A realignment idea with its assumptions stated up front.
What does not
Link-placement requests, guest posts written by an agency, and anything that asks us to hide the fact that it is an advertisement. Those are deleted without a reply.
Response times
This is a personal journal, not a newsroom, so replies come when they come — usually within a week or two, and always to a real person rather than a template.
Read it for the hockey. This journal explains how the sport works; it does not predict results and does not sell anything. Where a number is not publicly checkable we say so instead of inventing one.
